The Lakehead University Department of English, in cooperation with the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities and RiVAL: the ReImagining Value Action Lab is pleased to host a lecture by Halifax-based poet, scholar and activist El Jones:

“Poetry Defiant: Free Speech in an Age of Racist Reaction.”

El Jones is Nancy Chair of Women’s Studies at Mount Saint Vincent University, former poet laureate of Halifax and author of the poetry collection LIVE FROM THE AFRIKAN RESISTANCE! published by Fernwood Publishing.
