The ReImagining Value Action Lab

Introducing: The ReImagining Value Action Lab

Posted on Posted in Updates

It’s with great pleasure that I can introduce the ReImagining Value Action Lab (RiVAL) through its website.

My name is Max Haiven and I am director of the Lab and Canada Research Chair in Culture, Media and Social Justice at Lakehead University, in Thunder Bay on Anishinaabe territory under the Robinson-Superior Treaty (Ontario, Canada).

I invite you to explore this website to learn more about the lab’s background, facilities and aspirations.

RiVAL is a workshop for the radical imagination. It’s physical premises are a large, multi-purpose, open-concept and modular space at Lakehead University’s PACI building. There, we have meetings,  host workshops, welcome the community, develop print and multimedia publications, play games, do research and collaborate.

But RiVAL is also an international research platform dedicated to social justice a the intersection of culture and economics. We see the ReImagination of Value as the urgent task of recalibrating our understandings of who and what is valuable on this earth, and of acting, together to change the world for the better.
